If gorgeous gingham heels aren’t already in your August rotation, you need to shut out the chaos of the world and correct course immediately. Open a new tab in your browser shut the door if you must. It’s really that urgent. While our sunset dinner dates linger into the night, Eastbound and beach-bound traffic remains a nightmare, and beach-bum/ alfresco brunch/blueberry (scone) season persists, the summer sales are leaving us faster than your intern scurries out when you leave the office on a Friday afternoon. We’re madly truly deeply in love with fall’s beautiful collections…but not quite ready to give up cheeky summer style just yet.
I highly recommend scooping up gorgeous gingham heels (like these above!. I wore them with a sleek Little Black Dress to business meetings (and thought of it as a sophisticated and sweet way to hint at who’s really boss….ok, ok. Not me…but soon!). The low heel and pointed toe is oh-so professional, but the gingham keeps things just a bit feminine and sweet.
I wore the emerald pair with a sheer white dress (styled over a delicate dove gray slip dress) to after-work cocktails straight from meetings, and reported it to be the perfect day-to-night combo. And I can’t wait to wear the pink ones with prints (especially floral ones) too. (CHIC TIP: Remember, it’s easier to take a fashion “risk” when showing a bit of skin…even if the “skin” in question is nothing more scandalous than exposed toes! Printed open-toe shoes are generally easier to style with other prints than their closed-toe cousins.)
These shoes are a chic, sure-fire chic conversation, and they’re deeply discounted so will be gone in a flash. Go gingham! xo
Wear with: jeans, dark colors light colors, shorts, skirts, dresses, solids, and prints. A smile. Everything. Enjoy!!
Natalia’s Note: I’m generally reticent to shop for shoes from stores that specialize in clothing (like Zara, Ann Taylor, White House…and the like) because the leather quality and craftsmanship usually falls short of my (annoyingly exacting?!) tastes. One fabulous exception? J.Crew. I LOVE J.Crew and score stunning shoes there each and every summer 🙂
