How are you?! I’m sorry I’ve gone missing these passed few months, and hope you believe that I’m being 100% raw and real when I confess that I’ve missed She’s Very Chic—this blog, this brand, this creative outlet—more than I can possibly express. + I’ve missed YOU so much!
Negligence is a classic bad-friend move; and flakiness will never be cool, I promise. I come to you with an apology, a broadened vantage, several ridiculous stories, and big plans. I’m praying you’ll give me another chance and hoping we can kiss, make-up and pick up where we left off?
Long story short (because I know you always “get” me): I moved to the city for a sexy-sounding job, only to realize that the tune of the opportunity wasn’t right.
It’s A-ok to change your mind. (Obviously, you’re not looking for my permission. I write this in hopes that as you skim through this, you might be ever-so-slightly inspired to grant yourself permission if need be…)
I consciously spend time getting to know myself, my passions and my dreams, which in turn gives me a sense of confidence when making tough decisions in the name of my higher good. Self-awareness creates confidence, and confidence is that sexy, empowering state at the cusp of potential and action that is oh so very undeniably CHIC!
Interestingly, to cultivate confidence it’s sometimes critical to stop in order to go, go, go.
I wouldn’t have had the inner strength to leave my job if I didn’t constantly escape to the bookstore life-coaching and self-actualization section, journal basically ALL THE TIME and practice yoga (and the art of mental stillness) at ISHTA Yoga center every single day. I thought I was there to de-stress and feel super toned (and tbh, that too), but really, I now believe I kept coming back again and again to breathe and build confidence in my right to reevaluate what works and what doesn’t. Creating content that is meaningful to you is exactly what I want to do. And I need to feel like my best, strongest and most CHIC version of myself in order to do that. 🙂
As a writer, fashion assistant, style-enthusiast and design addict, I consciously create images that are in line with my own personal brand vision and ideal tastes. But I’m also a woman, a mind and a body. As much as I would like for SVC to be a resource for fabulous tips and tricks to feel healthy and fabulous, long term, I can only sustain this vision and this voice if I infuse artful refinement with some natural emotion. (But who really wants to look at perfect pictures of a girl making perfect decisions?)
I naturally love the city, and will be back visiting so so often while uncovering my next move and moving back. Please stay tuned for adventures! This time, I’ll be focused, dressed, and ready to document them for you. xx)
Anyway, thanks a million for having me back!
